ELECTIONS - ELECTION JUDGES AND POLL WATCHERS
There are two opportunities to serve in the upcoming Primary Election on August 16. Both of these opportunities are very important as they help to ensure fair elections in our County.
First, Election Judges oversee the voting process on Election Day. To sign up to participate as an Election Judge, contact the County Clerk's office or fill out the simple application that is on the website. Click here to access the form. In the subject box of the form, enter ELECTION JUDGE and your PHONE NUMBER. Leave the message box blank. The County Clerk provides training for these Judges. Training date notices will be sent out towards the end of June. Training will be closer to the election on August 16. The date is TBD.
Second, Poll Watchers watch (from a reasonable distance) to ensure that voters are legally able to vote in Albany County. Training for poll watchers comes through the political party. In our case, it is the Wyoming Republican Party. This training will be held closer to Election Day. To get your name on the list, contact Roxie.
Some people are not sure if they should sign up to be a Poll Watcher or an Election Judge. We are encouraging people to sign up for both. County Chair, Roxie Hensley, and County Clerk, Jackie Gonzales, will make the final schedule for Election Day. They will plug people in where needed.
